What We Do

Meredith’s Miracles is dedicated to providing financial assistance to young adults who are currently fighting colon cancer. Each year, 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colon cancer and it is estimated that nearly 10% of those diagnosed are under the age of 40. We serve this overlooked demographic that often has young families to care for, little to no savings, and limited or no health insurance.

How many Americans diagnosed each year, how many under age 40?

  • Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most diagnosed type of cancer in America

  • The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2023 there will be 106,970 new colon cancer cases and 46,050 new cases of rectal cancer.
Nearly 53,000 are predicted to die from the disease.

  • Approximately 40 people under age 40 are diagnosed each day with colorectal cancer.

We provide assistance with daily living expenses such as past-due rent, utility bills and car repairs, so patients can focus on their health. Additionally, we seek out educational opportunities to help raise awareness about colon cancer and the power of early detection.

Meredith’s Miracles began when a courageous young woman wanted to pay forward the generosity she received during her fight with colon cancer. We have grown from giving one miracle in 2009 to becoming the leading organization offering financial assistance to young colon cancer patients across the United States with non-medical expenses.

We hope for a day when there is a cure for cancer. In the meantime, Meredith’s Miracles provides help to those with the disease today.
