Board of Directors

Rebecca Powelson
President

Rebecca Powelson earned her bachelor's degree from Miami University and spent ten years living in Chicago before moving to New York, where she lives with her husband. She loves her career as a wine importer and has been able to travel the world as a perk of the business.

Why you care about MMCCF
Rebecca met Meredith while they were in college and became instant soul sisters. Witnessing Meredith's struggle, especially at such a young age, was life-changing. No one should be concerned with finances while fighting for their life.

What you contribute to MMCCF
Rebecca is our President of the organization, providing leadership and direction for an ever-changing philanthropic culture and foundation. Fundraising is the essence of what we do and integrating awareness is paramount to her. To each person we help, a life is changed.

Ryan Trimble
Treasurer

Ryan received his BA from Transylvania University and his MHA from University of Kentucky. He is a partner at DC Trimble, Inc., a general contracting firm. Ryan is married and lives in Lexington, Kentucky.

Why you care about MMCCF
Ryan has the privilege of working with both applicants and health professionals through MMCCF on a regular basis. He gets to know our grantees and their stories. Ryan has laughed, cried, and listened to so many of the people that we’ve helped. His favorite part of his role is telling people that we’re here to help them during their cancer journeys.

What you contribute to MMCCF
Ryan has served as Treasurer for Meredith’s Miracles since its inception. He handles all financial aspects of the organization including miracle granting. He works hard to ensure miracle payments meet the most demanding needs of grantees and are processed in a timely manner.

Laura Wooten

Laura earned her BA at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is the Director of Business Development at Callibrity Solutions. Laura lives outside Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and four children.

Why you care about MMCCF
Laura is the surviving sister of Meredith Holbert Rankin. What began as a tribute to her late sister has through the years become an organization that Laura cares deeply about, as MMCCF is able to so tangibly impact the lives of young cancer patients.

What you contribute to MMCCF
Laura is a founding member of Meredith’s Miracles. She has served as board President as well as led the Grant Committee. Laura has participated in all aspects of Meredith’s Miracles through the years and continues to be committed to the organization’s success.

Megan Leonhard

Megan Leonhard graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a BA in Education. She lives in Dublin, Ohio with her husband and three children, teaches preschool, and is an active volunteer in her church and children’s schools.

Why you care about MMCCF
Megan is a sorority sister of Meredith’s, and is passionate about both carrying on Meredith’s legacy, and offering assistance to those in need.  She feels fortunate to be able to form connections and relationships with grant applicants, while extending Meredith’s generosity and exuberance for life with so many deserving individuals and their loved ones.

What you contribute to MMCCF
Megan has been on the Board of Directors since 2014, and has served as Grant Committee Chair and Vice President.  She is committed to the development and growth of Meredith’s Miracles. Meredith’s Miracles serve as true and real miracles for our grant recipients, and Megan is grateful to be a part of this organization.
